what you need :

sweatshirt

scissors

sewing machine

thread

fabric (optional)

how to :

1.take an old sweatshirt that the waist band of the sweatshirt will be tight enough to stay up on your waist (not fall down) and cut diagonally across the middle.

2. Then take your scissors and cut some stripes of fabric all the same width from the rest of the sweatshirt.

3.line up the long side of one of the strips of fabric with the side of the medal sewing foot (the medal piece that goes over the fabric and pushes it down). Sew all the way along the side with your biggest normal straight stitching, on my sewing machine that is a 4.

4. Then line up the first line of stitching with the side of the sewing foot/pedal and sew all the way along the side with your biggest normal straight stitching.

when your finished sewing the two lines of stitching then it will look like it does above.

5. Separate the two strings from both lines of stitching.

6.Take the two that are in the front closes to you one from the top and one from the bottom row and pull. (don't pull too hard or the thread will snap)

When your finished pulling the fabric should look like the photos above and bellow.

Last. Take the bottom of the sweatshirt you cut off and flip it around so that the waist band of the sweatshirt is at the top. Then pin the ruffled fabric to the skirt about and inch over the end of the skirt and sew the ruffles one the skirt in between the two rows of stitching that are ruffled now. Your done!
